“I’m wearing this sash because it’s my BIRTHDAY”

Yes, that title is a direct quote from my birthday and sadly, it was sai

d to many people! These past few days were filled with celebration, smiles, fun and of course PINK! If you saw my blog post yesterday then you would know that  I just turned 20! This weekend I went down to the city (Chicago) where I was joined by some of my best friends. We had food, cake, music and a little party of our own. I can honestly say this was one of the best birthdays that I have ever had! For the celebration I naturally chose a hot pink romper that was slightly scandalous and let me tell you, it was a hit!

I love how this romper has a low cut in the back and a low cut in the front but, isn’t too revealing. I recommend this for girls who have a smaller bust! I have basically none sadly and had no problem making sure my girls weren’t out all night. Overall my birthday was more than I could’ve asked for and I am feeling so loved and blessed! Check out some pictures from my celebration below. 🙂birthday 3

J. Crew, Nordstroms and Lilly..Oh My!

Like many young girls, fashion was and is my first love. The only thing I love more than fashion itself is going shopping to buy the clothes. There is nothing more exciting than walking into a store and seeing all the beautiful clothing items for sale. Living in Chicago gives me constant access to some of the best brands and designers around. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I am often spotted in some of my favorite stores at least once every two weeks to see what new items have been placed on the shelves. You will most likely find me shopping in some of these places…

Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack I have more love for this store than any other. In my hometown, we have a Nordstrom Rack that I vista at least once a week to see what new designers are on sale (it is excessive I know). I absolutely love designer brands but, I love it even more when I get them on sale. There are so many different brands, styles and collections at Nordstrom that I could probably move into the store and be content for the rest of my life.

My favorite things to buy there- Designer shoes, and handbags

Akira– Akira is one of those stores that is often hit or miss for me but, when they have something I like its normally an amazing piece. Akira is the first place I go to when I want a new dress for semi-formals, birthday dinners or any special occasion. I must warn you though, they work off commission so they tend to be pushy!

My favorite things to buy there– Dresses, dresses, and DRESSES

J. Crew– I’m a little late on the bandwagon and have recently fallen in love with J. Crew. I think that the quality of their clothes is excellent and I have found that they tend to last much longer than some other brand. The style is really classic, preppy, and girly so its right up my alley! I definitely recommend their knit pants because they are the comfiest pairs I own.

My favorite things to buy there- Skirts, Pants, and Sweaters

T.J. Maxx– I know this store gives some people a headache due to the clutter and messiness but, I absolutely love it. I find it so satisfying to hunt through racks of clothing just to find one spectacular item. I found that they tend to have better designer clothing at the southern stores which just gives me another reason to want to move to the south!

My favorite things to buy there- Dresses and Tops

Lilly Pulitzer– Of course I couldn’t leave out the holy grail of preppiness. Many of my friends think Lilly looks like grandma clothing and to be completely honest, I used to think so too. Living in the Midwest, it isn’t very common to see girls walking around in pastel patchwork shift dresses. I think that Lilly is very timeless and classic which makes me love it so much more.

My favorite things to buy there- Dresses and Rompers
